Values are deeply rooted, abstract motivations that guide, justify and explain our choices. And implicitly – our choices demonstrate the Values upon which they are based.

Our values help define who we truly are and want to be in the world. 

There are many lists of values and different people will define and hold different words as values. That said, researchers have discovered a tendency in many humans to value many of the same things in life. Shalom Schwartz, a social psychologist, put together the following list of 58 repeatedly occurring values grouped in 10 categories.
